Dr Masedi Mohale
Dr Masedi Mohale graduated with a MBBCh from Wits University in 2012. He joined the department in 2016. MMed: Prevalence of Diabetes Insipidus Post Transsphenoidal Macroadenoma Resection at CHBAH. Interests: Spine, Skull base, Paeds.
Dr Thapelo Mazibuko
Dr Thapelo Mazibuko graduated in 2013 with a MBChB from the University of Limpopo, Medunsa Campus. He joined the department in November 2016. MMed: Paediatric tumours in the Wits Circuit. Interests: General neurosurgery.
Dr Yonela Saul Macala
Dr Yonela Saul Macala graduated with a MBChB from Walter Sisulu University in 2009.She spent some time as a MO in general surgery working in vascular, ENT and trauma units at Charlotte Makexe Johannesburg Hospital. She joined the department in Feb 2016. MMed: The Site, Size, Demographics of Ruptured Aneurysms at Two Large Central Hospitals in Johannesburg. Interests: Neuro-oncology, Paeds, Neurocritical care, Skull base.
Dr Ruan Marais
Dr Ruan Marais graduated with a MBChB from University of Free State in 2011. He then worked in the neurosurgical unit at Kimberley Hospital. He joined the department in 2016. MMed: Outcome of Percutaneous and Surgical Tracheostomies in the Neurosurgical ICU at CMJAH. Interests: Neuro-oncology, neuro endoscopic work.
Dr Fezokuhle Nkala
Dr Nkala graduated with a MBChB from Medunsa in 2006. She joined the department in 2015 and helped setup the Helen Joseph Neurosurgical unit as a MO. She is currently registrar and based at CMJAH. MMed: Aneurysmal SAH and Renal Dysfunction. Interests: Skull base, vascular, brainstem surgery.
