Various initiatives to save electricity and water have long been part of the University’s efforts to conserve our natural resources, care for the environment and ensure a sustainable future for generations to come.
Wits University, as one of the leading universities, is committed to promoting sustainability in its operations, teaching and learning, research – with the support of its students, staff and stakeholders.
The campaign, Save Our Resources. #ForGood is part of ongoing efforts to rally the Wits community to act with care, through small and big actions, as individuals and as a collective.
The campaign is part of Wits University’s Sustainability Strategy and the Wits 2033 strategy. Electricity and water have been identified as the first key areas where all members of the University can make a contribution to sustainability. Overall, Wits has committed to driving in six areas: research and teaching, energy, water, waste, transport and infrastructure.
