DOHaD Africa

Support for the African chapter of the International Society on the Developmental Origins of Health and Disease (DOHaD)

Membership of DOHaD including its chapters is through individual membership. However, Professor Shane Norris, director of DPHRU, has served as president of its African chapter since his election to that office in 2015 and ex officio serves on the international council of DOHaD.

DPHRU is a leader of research and interventions that relate to the developmental origins of health and disease in Africa. Our unit supports the work and activities of International DOHaD by participation, research collaboration, networking and communication of DOHaD's research approach especially via DOHaD Africa.

The African Chapter of DOHaD is becoming a globally connected virtual network focused on creating, communicating and translating the latest knowledge on the developmental origins of health and disease. It is committed to research and advocacy that will ensure the improvement of the health and well-being of everyone in Africa today and into the future.
