The credits mentioned in the above descriptions provide an idea of the time requirements. The general rule is that each credit requires a dedication of 10 hours. For example, a 20-credit course requires 200 hours of dedication including lectures, laboratory sessions (if any), and self-study time. This is only a general rule, however. In particular, when it comes to research projects, the scope and breadth of work will have to be agreed to with your supervisor.
Notice that the MEng (Professional) and the MSc 50/50 programmes involve coursework. Courses offered by the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering typically run every second year. View the for the PG Timetable 2025 for the latest PG course schedules.
Please note that if a course is listed in the Rules and Syllabuses Book of the FEBE, but has not been offered by our School during the last two years, then it is likely that such course is currently inactive.
The coursework and/or research conducted under any of our four postgraduate programmes will fall under one of the following sub-disciplines: Environmental, geotechnical, materials, structural, water, and project & construction management.
