What is 3MT?

The Three Minute Thesis Contest challenges PhD students in the Faculty of Health Sciences to explain their research in under three minutes. Developed by The University of Queensland, 3MT cultivates students’ academic, presentation, and research communication skills. The competition supports their capacity to effectively explain their research in three minutes, in a language appropriate to a non-specialist audience.

The HSRO hosted the first competition in 2023.
