The Claude Leon Chair in Earth Justice and Stewardship is a platform for impactful and sustained research, human capacity development and public advocacy relating to water, climate change, energy and nature transitions.

The new high-tech Digital Dome will transform the Planetarium into a world-class digital research, training, and science engagement facility. Wits and Anglo American have provided R75 million to fund the first two stages of the project, which will open to the public in 2024.

Centred at the stunning Wits Rural Campus in the South African Lowveld, at the interface between state and private conservation areas and rural communities, the Wits Rural Knowledge Hub (WiRKH) serves as a knowledge broker, linking science to action for sustainable development.
