Congratulations Dr Khumisho Moguerane

Congratulations to SCIS researcher Dr Khumisho Moguerane on winning the South African Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) award for Best Monograph in the Non-Fiction category for her book Morafe: Person, Family and Nation in Colonial Bechuanaland (1880s—1950s)! “The Molemas navigated the world with unwavering commitment to the idea that our capacity for connectedness is what makes us quintessentially human. This book winning the HSS award is testament to the power of the Molemas’ story. It is an invitation to reflect on connectedness with hope. This is especially important at a time when the ties between us are proving to be catastrophically fragile."

Wealth Inequality and Elites | Seeks to link elite studies and wealth distribution work to understand inequality because how wealth is distributed both reflects and reinforces who holds power in society.
