Postgraduate Research - MSc and PhD

There are two levels of qualification: MSc OT by research only and the PhD.

The Masters level qualification aims to develop specialist knowledge by engaging with and critiquing current literature so as to advance the scholarship of research in the field of occupational therapy.

The PhD qualification aims to develop knowledge and expertise in the forefront of the profession by demonstrating the ability to conceptualise new research initiative so as to create new knowledge related to the occupational therapy discipline and practice thereof.

Admission

For admission students require a recognised degree in occupational therapy for the Masters level and a recognised Masters qualification in occupational therapy for the Ph D. Prior to registration the student must have a discussion with the department about the intended research. The department may require candidates to attend a research methodology course or other courses the Faculty or University may offer to enable the students research capacity. Admission is limited to four admission cycles: January, April, June and September.
