We produce responsible and innovative professionals committed to meeting the health needs of all communities in South Africa. 

The Department has a strong research focus. Niche research areas include disability rehabilitation, Paediatrics, digital innovation and technology in rehabilitation research, musculoskeletal health and wellbeing, HIV disability and acute illness.

We are also home to the Physiotherapy Movement Analysis Laboratory and the Wits Cricket Research Hub.
