Postgraduate study
Postgraduate study offered across many disciplines in the School of Arts is at the forefront of developments in creative research, with combinations of creative output and dissertation work acknowledged as valid research. From Honours level to Doctoral studies, our postgraduate offerings are aimed at developing and nourishing those with creative ability, expressed through artistic work and written texts.
Undergraduate study
The School of Arts offers a unique opportunity to embark on your undergraduate studies alongside award winning artists, educators and published academics. We offer a range of degrees and courses across various disciplines in the School of Arts where professional facilities and equipment is available to support education across a broad field of artistic practice.
Departments
We offer programmes in Cultural Policy and Management, Digital Arts, Drama for Life (Applied Theatre and Drama Therapies), Film and Television, Fine Arts, Curatorial, Public and Visual Cultures, Interdisciplinary Arts & Culture Studies, Music and Theatre and Performance.
Short courses
Short Courses for non-degree purposes are offered at certain times by some departments in the School of Arts and are based on demand and availability of resources.
Arts Research Africa
Arts Research Africa (ARA) is funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. It consists of a range of activities designed to spark dialogue, stimulate practice, enable research and inspire collective engagement around the question of artistic research in Africa.

The main School of Arts administrative building is located on East Campus and can be accessed via the Station Street entrance to campus.
